REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Registration and Deposit

To insure a productive workshop experience, we keep our classes small, usually 4 - 8 students, therefore early registration is recommended. It is difficult to pull a class together at the last minute, so we encourage you to register no later than one month before any given class. A $100 deposit for each class must accompany your registration form to assure your place in the workshop. Your entire deposit will be applied toward tuition, unless you wish to apply $25 toward an annual membership. WSW membership entitles you to discounts on tuition, studio rentals and WSW products. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Avoid disappointment - register early! Once we receive your registration form and deposit, you will receive a receipt. As soon as the class is fully enrolled (minimum 4 students), you will receive another packet from us, containing a workshop confirmation form, a list of housing options, directions to WSW, and a materials list. In some cases, the receipt and confirmation form will be sent in one packet. Please be prepared to settle the balance due on your tuition when you arrive for the first day of class.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

WSW determines whether a class has sufficient enrollment no later than two weeks prior to the first day of class. If you enroll in a class that is canceled due to insufficient enrollment, or if it is necessary for WSW t cancel a class for any other reason, your deposit will be returned to you in full, or you can opt to transfer into another class. If you must withdraw from a class before it is confirmed, and you give us a minimum of one month's notice, WSW will refund $75 of your initial deposit, retaining a $25 processing fee. WSW does not assume responsibility for nonrefundable travel and lodging expenses, we therefore recommend that you wait until your class is confirmed before making these arrangements. Once a class is confirmed, your $100 deposit is entirely nonrefundable. Please note that memberships paid for within the SAI registration are nonrefundable.

Housing

Housing is the responsibility of each student. We have compiled a complete list of housing options which have proven comfortable and convenient for our students in the past, including rooms in private homes, bed and breakfasts, motels, hotels, campsites, etc. This list will be included in your workshop confirmation packet unless you request one sooner. Accommodations on this list range from $30-$60 a night.

Fees & Materials

Your tuition includes catered lunches for both week-long and weekend workshops. Common materials for use in the studio are also included. There are no additional lab fees, however a small materials fee of $15-$30 may be necessary for workshops which require special exhaustible materials, which WSW obtains exclusively for that class. With your class confirmation, you will receive a list of materials that you should bring to class - some essential and some optional. Filling this list is generally inexpensive. Your materials list will indicate whether or not there will be an additional fee, and what it is for. Tuition Seven day workshop - $650, $630 for members Five day workshop - $430, $410 for members Two day workshop - $215, $200 for members Work Exchange A limited number of work exchange fellowships are available. These scholarships allow a 50% reduction of fees in exchange for 1.5 hours of work per hour of subsidized studio time.
